National League match abandoned after horror collision involving player on loan from Premier League club

A National League clash between Eastleigh and Scunthorpe was abandoned in stoppage time after a clash of heads left two players requiring urgent medical treatment.

With the score level at 1-1 at the Silverlake Stadium, Eastleigh defender Archie Harris, who is on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth, and Scunthorpe's Jean Belehouan collided heavily as they challenged for the ball in the 97th minute.

Medical staff raced onto the pitch and an ambulance was called as both players received lengthy treatment.

Flags were reportedly raised around them to protect their privacy and both sets of players were sent back to the dressing rooms while medics worked.
