Manchester United target Rasmus Hojlund has not been named in Atalanta's squad to face Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.
This comes as the Red Devils have held further talks over a move for the striker this summer.
However, PSG are also interested in signing the forward but aren't as close to finding an agreement with Atalanta as the Red Devils.
Erik ten Hag's side may have the advantage, with Hojlund not named in the Atalanta squad to face Bournemouth.
Gian Piero Gasperini did not name the 20-year-old among the squad as the Serie A side ramp up their preparations ahead of the new season.
