Lawrence Okolie to fight for the second time in NINE weeks after agreeing to defend his cruiserweight world title against former sparring partner Chris Billam-Smith at the Vitality Stadium on May 27

Lawrence Okolie will aim for a fourth successful defence of his WBO world cruiserweight title when he takes on fellow Briton and former sparring partner Chris Billam-Smith at Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium on May 27.

The fight comes as a quick turnaround for Okolie, who defeated New Zealand's David Light on a unanimous points decision in Manchester on March 25, extending his unbeaten record to 19 fights in what was his first outing since beating Michal Cieslak on points in February 2022.

'I'm pumped, I'm ready to go,' Okolie said. 'I've just come off a successful defence where I won all 12 rounds against an unknown but tough competitor, a national champion in his homeland.
