Jonathan Woodgate's Bourne again: interim coach looking to rebuild his career after guiding Bournemouth to victory over Birmingham in his debut match as Cherries caretaker

Jonathan Woodgate’s first week at Bournemouth brought to mind the scene in Only Fools and Horses where Rodney Trotter attends the Nelson Mandela House residents’ meeting to get something done about the broken lifts.

With the meeting unable to start until the recently-deceased vice-chairman is replaced, Rodney finds himself nominated by Trigger — the only other person who’s turned up.

Once Rodney takes his seat on the stage, the chairman Baz says: ‘I declare this meeting open. The first item on the agenda is my resignation. You’re the new chair. Congratulations, son.’
