‘It’s been a really tough period': Graham Potter admits Chelsea's current injury crisis is the most challenging time he's had as a coach but he says the club's status means there can be no excuses

Chelsea’s injury woes have left Graham Potter dealing with the most challenging period of his managerial career — but he is refusing to make excuses.

Chelsea suffered the latest in a long line of setbacks this week against Bournemouth when Reece James aggravated the knee problem that had already wrecked his World Cup hopes and kept him out of competitive action for 11 weeks.

Potter said: ‘It’s been a real tough period, as challenging as there has been in my time as a coach. But we’re Chelsea and people don’t want to hear those reasons or excuses.
