Jermain Defoe has told talkSPORT Bournemouth and England midfielder Lewis Cook has ‘unbelievable potential’ - comparing his playing style to Real Madrid maestro Luka Modric.
Cook - who captained England to glory in the Under-20 World Cup last summer - earned his first senior Three Lions cap this week, coming on as a 71st-minute substitute in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Italy at Wembley Stadium.
The 21-year-old’s call-up was recognition of his superb form for the Cherries this season, and is Bournemouth's first serving player to make a senior England appearance.
Defoe has been blown away by the young midfeidler’s talent and says the way he moves with the ball reminds him of a former Tottenham team-mate.
