Demarai Gray will be given the chance to banish his transfer window disappointment after Aidy Boothroyd explained how the Leicester was affected by uncertainty over his future.
Gray was the subject of interest from Bournemouth on deadline day and was eager to link up with Eddie Howe but their £25million bid was rejected; had talks between the clubs progressed, the FA were prepared to let Bournemouth officials come over to Holland to complete a medical.
As it was, though, Gray was left frustrated and England’s Under-21 head coach took the decision not to start him in the opening game of their Euro 2019 qualification campaign, preferring to use him as a late substitute in that 1-1 draw on Friday.
