Christian Benteke missed a stoppage time penalty as Jermain Defoe's stunning equaliser secured Bournemouth a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The veteran striker, still chasing a seat in England's World Cup squad, stunned the Eagles' fans as he collected a long ball by Lewis Cook in the third minute of stoppage time before hooking the ball back across goal, over Julian Speroni and into the net.
It completed a fine afternoon for Defoe after he also opened the scoring after finishing off a well-worked corner routine but the hosts were given a golden opportunity to snatch all three points late on when Charlie Daniels brought down Wilfried Zaha.
