Celtic's quest to land Eddie Howe as their new manager has collapsed.

The Parkhead club hoped to unveil their number one target to replace Neil Lennon early next week.

Despite Bournemouth's defeat to Brentford in the Championship play-off semi-final, however, talks to bring his former Bournemouth Technical Director Richard Hughes and first team coaches Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone to Glasgow have struck a wall.
