Joshua King came off the bench to score an extra-time winner as Bournemouth beat Brighton to advance into round four of the Carabao Cup.
The teams met on Friday night as Bournemouth came from behind to pick up their first Premier League points of the season with a 2-1 win, but with a combined 19 changes from that encounter, this cup tie lacked quality.
The hosts had the best of the contest as Junior Stanislas missed the clearest chance of normal time before King struck early in extra-time to seal a 1-0 victory.
Jose Izquierdo, Brighton's club-record signing starting his first game for the club, stung the palms of Artur Boruc in the early stages before Jamie Murphy missed an easy chance to give Chris Hughton's side the lead.
