Bournemouth star David Brooks RETURNS to the first-team matchday squad for the first time in 525 days after beating cancer, as he makes the bench for the Cherries' clash against Liverpool

Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks has returned to the team's matchday squad for the first time in 525 days after beating cancer.

The Welsh international has been included on the bench for the Cherries in their home clash against Liverpool in today's early kick-off.

Brooks last made a matchday squad on October 2, 2021, when he was an unused substitute against Sheffield United.

The 25-year-old that month revealed he was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma, before later revealed that he was cancer free in May last year.

Brooks returned to action at the start of the season when he featured for Bournemouth's Under-21s side against Brentford.
