BBC Scotland has learned the billionaire owner of Bournemouth is looking to buy a stake in Hibs.

American businessman Bill Foley took control of the English Premier League side last year.

It is understood he has wanted to invest in the Edinburgh club for months and has held initial talks with a view to making a non-controlling investment.

Hibs are currently owned by the family of American businessman Ron Gordon, who died last year.

Mr Foley had plans to expand a sporting franchise that already includes a Las Vegas Ice Hockey team, as well as football clubs in England, France and Australia.
