Bournemouth apply to keep temporary south stand at Vitality Stadium in place as deadline to remove it looms

Bournemouth have put in an application for the temporary south stand at the Vitality Stadium to remain in place.

Planning permission for the Ted MacDougall Stand - constructed following the Cherries' promotion to the Sky Bet Championship in 2013 — required it to be removed and the land restored within five years.

With that deadline approaching, the Premier League club have made a request to Bournemouth Borough Council for the condition to be removed in order to maximise attendances.

Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said the application would not affect the club's long-term plans to move to a new ground.
