Bournemouth 3-1 Middlesbrough: Callum Wilson scores and assists as striker returns after nine months out to fire Cherries to Carabao Cup last eight

Callum Wilson tucked away the penalty that sent Bournemouth into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and there couldn't have been a more popular match-winner at the Vitality Stadium.

The striker was making his first appearance for the Cherries since suffering an horrendous cruciate knee ligament injury back in January and so it might well have been scripted this way.

With the scores locked at 1-1 and just a quarter-hour remaining, Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry dragged down Jack Simpson in the area, offering Wilson the chance to make his return in style.
