After another error last night, shortstop Xander Bogaerts is out of the Red Sox lineup for tonight’s game at Fenway Park. Eduardo Nunez will make his first start at the position since coming over from San Francisco.
With a modest six-game hitting streak, Bogaerts has shown some signs of snapping out of his recent offensive funk. He’s hit just .269 with one extra-base hit during the streak, but at least there’s been some hard contact.
There have also been more mistakes in the field, with one error on Sunday and another bobble last night.
Bogaerts has 13 errors, which is already a career-high.
