Will Red Sox buy or sell at trade deadline? Craig Breslow responds

A Red Sox season that opened with so much potential is seemingly already on the brink of disaster.

Following a loss to the Angels on Wednesday afternoon, the Red Sox have lost five games in a row and now sit at 40-42 on the season. According to FanGraphs, Boston has just a 16.6 percent shot of making the postseason.

Despite dealing away their best hitter in Rafael Devers earlier this month, Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow stressed that Boston wasn’t viewing that trade as the precursor to a larger roster sell-off amid a lackluster campaign.
