The Red Sox have made exactly one addition to their major-league roster via free agency this winter, bringing in outfielder Hunter Renfroe to shore up that group. It was clear from the start of the offseason that they needed help out beyond the dirt, but what’s not entirely clear at this point is whether or not they feel Renfroe is enough. As we’ve talked about on this very website, we do not believe that is the case as we see the former Padre and Ray as more of a platoon bat. And for what it’s worth, at least publicly it seems the Red Sox are at least considering adding more for the outfield.
