Watch: Red Sox drop 13 runs on Orioles in eighth inning

It’s hard to believe that the Red Sox trailed the Orioles 2-1 after five innings of play Friday, given that Boston ultimately beat Baltimore 19-5.

Rafael Devers was a major reason for the Red Sox’ rout of their American League East foe. He ended Game 1 of the doubleheader with the Orioles with a career-high eight RBI.

It all started in the sixth inning. Coming off Alex Bregman’s sudden departure from the game due to right quad tightness and another brief outing by starting pitcher Brayan Bello, spirits were not high for Boston.

Enter Baltimore relief pitcher Seranthony Dominguez, who was tabbed with the loss.
