Payton Tolle made his Triple-A debut on August 10, and he continues to get considerable praise in the prospect ranking community. MLB Pipeline released its midseason rankings update on August 11, and the lefty made a huge jump. The 22-year-old finds himself at No. 28 on their top 100.
A second-round pick in 2024 out of TCU, Tolle is Boston's newest shining star in their minor league system. The Red Sox have retooled his pitch usage in his year in the organization, and it's paid off. He's flown through the minors this year to the point where there is some conversation around him potentially making his MLB Debut in the bullpen before the end of the season.
