Unsung battery of Steven Wright, Sandy Leon power Red Sox over Dodgers

LOS ANGELES -- Two players who didn't carry high expectations coming into the season carried the Boston Red Sox on Friday night.

Knuckleball pitcher Steven Wright deftly floated the ball for nine innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and catcher Sandy Leon supported him with four RBIs and a well-called game, leading the Red Sox to a 9-0 victory in the series opener at Dodger Stadium.

"When you look at this game tonight, two guys that we really didn't have on our radar, both Steven, to the extent that he has become, and Sandy Leon, that battery-mate tonight was outstanding," Red Sox manager John Farrell said.
