The updates continue to roll in regarding Triston Casas’ rib ailment. And none of them have alleviated fears for a Red Sox roster already stung several times by the injury bug in 2024.
The slugging first baseman was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday afternoon, with Casas suffering a left rib strain during Boston’s 4-2 win over the Pirates on Saturday.
He appeared to suffer the injury during his first at-bat on Saturday, wincing after fouling off a pitch. Casas eventually drew a walk, but was later pulled from the game.
Casas will return to Boston on Sunday to undergo imaging to determine the severity of his injury.
