Trevor Story became 4th MLB player in expansion era to accomplish this feat

Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story put himself in rare company on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

The 32-year-old infielder successfully stole two bases in Boston’s 2-1 loss to the A’s — making him a perfect 30-for-30 on stolen-base attempts so far this year.

According to the Red Sox, Story is just the fourth player since MLB’s expansion era (1961) to go a perfect 30-for-30 on swiped bags to open a season — joining a group that includes Trea Turner (2023), Carl Crawford (2009), and Vince Coleman (1989).

Turner stands as the only one to close out a season without getting caught.
