The Red Sox finally got a win over the Yankees in third game of the final series between the two clubs, running the season series to a 9-1 record in favor of New York. In the first game of the series on Friday, the Red Sox coughed up a ninth inning lead on Matt Barnes fourth blown save of the season. Martín Pérez put together another great outing, going six innings and allowing only three hits and one walk while striking out seven. On Saturday, the Red Sox were blown out by a score of 8-0.
