Keaton and I recorded this podcast at 10 AM on Sunday and when we we were doing this podcast one of the focuses of the show was how bad the pitching is. Later that day we got news that Collin McHugh has chosen to opt out of the season for 2020, further complicating the issue of a deficit of quality innings.
Zack Godley is a welcome addition to this team, but as Keaton and I discuss, he is hardly an antidote to these issues. If the Red Sox are going to make any noise this year they are going to have to get ace like performances out of both Eduardo Rodriguez and Nathan Eovaldi as well as steady performances from Martín Pérez and Ryan Weber.
