BOSTON -- After serving up a home run on just the second pitch of the game, Drew Pomeranz settled in nicely, scattering seven hits over 6 1/3 innings while his offense backed him with two early two-run homers as the American League East-leading Red Sox defeated the White Sox, 4-1, for their fifth consecutive victory Saturday night at Fenway Park.
Following the first-inning folly, the Red Sox starter -- who has not lost since June 11 -- struck out eight en route to his 11th win

Ferguson was stuck with a no-decision, but the Quakes ultimately came through with a win, topping Modesto 2-1 in 12 innings on Tuesday.
