Silverman: Dave Dombrowski makes right move with Mike Hazen

Dave Dombrowski could have very easily not only cleaned house when he got his new job five weeks ago, he could have gotten away with bringing in a bulldozer for a complete tear-down.

But as yesterday’s decision to elevate Mike Hazen to the general manager position re-affirmed, Dombrowski has no interest in starting over.

He doesn’t need to.

Promoting Hazen was both the smart and the right move.

It’s not just that there’s already been enough change and turmoil along Yawkey Way this summer.

It’s more that the Red Sox’ house is already in order.
