The Boston Red Sox were reportedly in the mix for Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suárez before the All-Star was shipped back to the Seattle Mariners late last night. According to The Athletic (subscription required), the Red Sox attempted to land Suárez and were planning to play him at first base.
Suárez has spent most of his career at the hot corner, though his early years in the minors were spent at shortstop. As he's now heading into the latter part of his Major League career, however, a move to first base seems to be on the horizon for the two-time All-Star.
