Not seen as a solution to the issue the Boston Red Sox have at catcher, the team traded Blake Sabol to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations. Sabol was previously outrighted from the Red Sox's 40-man roster earlier this season, so there was no need for any further roster construction following the trade.
As the Red Sox look for potential solutions to their Connor Wong problem, Sabol was not going to be the answer. In an earlier stint this season with the Red Sox, Sabol slashed .125/.167/.188 in 18 plate appearances. In fact, Sabol's -12 wRC+ on the season makes Wong look like an All-Star.
