Red Sox Rumors: Boston eyeing Yankees trade failure to bolster bullpen

The Boston Red Sox have had a recent habit of taking New York Yankees castoffs and turning them into success stories — Rob Refsnyder, Garrett Whitlock, Carlos Narváez and Aroldis Chapman are just a few current examples.

During the 2025 GM meetings in Las Vegas, Ken Rosenthal, Will Sammon and Katie Woo of The Athletic reported that the Red Sox may seek to add another high-leverage reliever to create a 'super bullpen,' of sorts (subscription required). Some of the candidates the reporters named are Robert Suarez, Pete Fairbanks, Ryan Helsley, Luke Weaver, and they also addressed an established interest in 2025 Yankeee, Devin Williams.
