The Boston Red Sox are reportedly moving on from one of their homegrown stars.
According to FanSided’s Robert Murray, the Red Sox have traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants for a package that includes pitchers Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison. CBS Sports’ Julian McWilliams added that two additional minor leaguers are going to Boston in the deal.
McWilliams later added that the Giants will take on the entirety of Devers’ contract, which was a 10-year, $313.5 million deal that he initially signed in January 2023. His contract does not expire until the end of the 2033 season.
