The Boston Red Sox on August 11 did some shuffling to their 40-man roster to accommodate new bullpen options.
Boston designated reliever Nick Burdi for assignment in the late morning. Burdi broke the news himself in a tweet, and Chris Cotillo of MassLive quickly confirmed the report. Cotillo also reported that the Red Sox have summoned reliever Jovani Morán to the big leagues. They'll need to clear an active roster spot for him.
Burdi signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox before the 2025 season, after a short stint with the Yankees the previous year.
