Red Sox notebook: MRI reveals Drew Pomeranz’ injury to be mild flexor strain

FORT MYERS — Drew Pomeranz said yesterday the results of an MRI on his sore left forearm revealed a mild flexor strain.

The Red Sox starter exited his first spring training outing Friday in the middle of a second-inning at-bat due to forearm soreness. The team put him through tests yesterday.

“Kind of what I expected,” Pomeranz said. “Nothing really too serious. Just a little soreness. I don’t know, I don’t see missing myself too much time. Today, I just came in and got a little treatment after the MRI. But then I’ll come in tomorrow and figure out what the plan is.
