The Red Sox have not named a potential Game 4 starter. That makes sense for a few reasons.
Obviously, the Sox have not yet forced a Game 4, with today’s do-or-die Game 3 against the Houston Astros on deck, but they also don’t know who might be available.
With Doug Fister on the Fenway mound today, the Red Sox have a whatever-it-takes philosophy as they attempt to save their season, certainly in their bullpen. Rick Porcello, who threw 12 pitches in relief in Thursday’s Game 1, is certainly a candidate to start a Game 4. Perhaps even David Price is.
