The Red Sox bullpen is overworked as it is, with the Boston relief corps currently leading all of baseball in innings pitched. And now that corps will lose one of its most effective arms, at least for a bit. Justin Slaten has been put on the IL, retroactive to Thursday, after experiencing some inflammation in the arm. Right now the Sox are just calling it fatigue and an MRI is not yet deemed necessary. But it’s a pitching arm injury so feel free to worry. (Peter Abraham, Boston Globe)
Brennan Bernardino certainly know a little something about a heavy workload.
