While the Red Sox don’t pay Rafael Devers to take walks, it can still be viewed as a positive that he led the American League in bases on balls while Alex Bregman was in the lineup. With Bregman out indefinitely, we will likely see even more of an uptick in Devers’ free passes. On Monday, that led to an intentional walk in the ninth inning and Connor Wong making the final out in a 3-2 loss. (Alex Speier, Boston Globe)
The Red Sox are now 6-6 in Garrett Crochet’s starts, despite his 2.04 ERA in a league-leading 75 innings pitched.
