Brandon Phillips has been turning it on after taking a bit to shake the rust off in the minors. This was his third game with at least three hits in the month of August, and since July 28 he’s seen his batting average rise from .172 to .301. There’s probably not a great chance for him to play a big role with the team barring some sort of injury, but at this point I’m expecting him to get the call in September.
