There’s no need to scoreboard watch Monday night, Red Sox fans. Not only is it a day off for the Sox, but the entire American League will be off before resuming play on Tuesday.
For the Sox, currently holding the second wild-card spot with a record of 85-71, that will be a three-game set with the first-place Blue Jays as they play their final road series before returning to Fenway Park for a three-game series with the Tigers to conclude the season.
The Blue Jays (90-66) clinched a playoff spot on Sunday but are just two games ahead of the Yankees in the AL East with six to play.
