Red Sox Beat: Fans will be at risk until Sox extend safety nets

We knew that before Friday night.

The pain was amplified to unbearable levels after hearing and seeing what happened to Tonya Carpenter.

Knowing that the tragedy was avoidable only worsened the sight and sounds of a screaming-for-her-life baseball fan being carted off the field after being hit by a broken bat.

In the midst of sending our most heartfelt prayers and thoughts toward Carpenter for a swift and complete recovery, let’s take those ultimately abstract wishes for her to the next level of concrete action for future fans.
