The Red Sox and Twins will face off this afternoon (2:10 p.m., NESN) the day after their scheduled game was cancelled in the wake of the police killing of 20-year-old Daunte Wright in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
Yesterday’s scheduled starters, Martín Pérez and J.A. Happ, will be on the mound for the Sox and Twins, respectively. For more color on the game, see yesterday’s lineups post.
Before we get to the lineups, though, I want to note that for all the questions about Alex Cora’s return as manager and the concomitant hand-wringing, it’s days like yesterday that show his value to the franchise.
