The Red Sox got bad news on Saturday regarding Alex Bregman’s injury.

Though Bregman and the Red Sox were hoping he dodged anything major after Bregman was pulled from Friday’s game with what was described at the time as “quad tightness.” However, the third baseman started feeling worse last night, and an MRI revealed he suffered a severe quad strain.

Bregman called the injury “similar to 2021,” the season where he missed over two months and 58 games. While Boston manager Alex Cora didn’t give a timeline regarding Bregman, it’s clear he’ll be out far longer than just one or two weeks.
