The Red Sox are giving themselves more options when it comes to replacing Triston Casas at first base.
Boston announced on Thursday that it has acquired first baseman/outfielder Ryan Noda from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations.
Boston assigned Noda to Triple-A Worcester, and placed him on the team’s 40-man roster. In order to accommodate Noda on the roster, the Red Sox also transferred outfielder Masataka Yoshida to the 60-Day Injured List.
Noda, 29, was designated for assignment by the Angels earlier this week after a rough showing so far with Triple-A Salt Lake (.
