ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- After going 2-for-15 over his last four games, Rafael Devers is getting a day off.
The rookie is on the bench and so too is Dustin Pedroia as the Red Sox go for eight wins in a row on Wednesday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Devers drove in the go-ahead run with a groundout during the Sox’ 2-0 win over the Rays on Tuesday, but the 20-year-old finally appears to have cooled off a bit after an electric beginning to his major league career in which he hit .406 with three homers in his first eight games.
