Pomeranz feels no more pain, outlook sunny for being ready at start of season

By MICHAEL SILVERMAN

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Drew Pomeranz is feeling “no pain” anymore in the mildly strained flexor tendon of his left forearm, allowing the organization to breathe a sigh of relief that last Friday's injury represents only a hiccup.

Being ready to start the season appears more likely than not, even if an exact plan for his return to action has not been worked out yet. Today should be Pomeranz' day to throw but that will be pushed back.

“He should start throwing in the upcoming days, I don’t know when but he should be in the next couple of days,” said Red Sox manager Alex Cora after the Red Sox' 9-1 victory over the Rays Tuesday afternoon.
