Phillies manager Gabe Kapler’s home was among those lost in California wildfires

Philadelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler spoke out recently after his family’s home was one of many to be destroyed in one of California’s ongoing wildfires.

Kapler, a former Red Sox outfielder, acknowledged to Matt Gelb of The Athletic that his Malibu home is “gone.” Still, his message was focused more on the bigger picture as the wildfires continue.

“Keep talking about it,” Kapler told Gelb. “When you’re out in your community, talk about it with other people. Use it as a way to come together. I sent this text message back to people: Talk about it.
