MLB Roundup: Jordan Lyles to the Rangers leads day of minor signings

Texas, as we’ve talked about before, is a really interesting team this winter. They aren’t necessarily super close to a championship on paper, but they are solid enough to start pushing and have the added motivation of a new ballpark opening in 2020. They signed Kyle Gibson earlier in the offseason, and now they’ve reportedly finished off their rotation with Jordan Lyles. The righty struggled mightily with Pittsburgh in the first half of 2019 before turning it around in Milwaukee, turning that second-half success into a two-year, $16 million deal. It’s not quite the Drew Pomeranz model, but it’s close.
