Dustin Pedroia resumed light baseball activities today, he’s scheduled to swing a bat tomorrow, and all signs point to a relatively quick return from the latest knee injury that’s had him on the disabled list since last weekend.
Only one minor problem, if that’s what you want to call it: the Red Sox best hitter at the moment happens to play Pedroia’s position.
“Well, I think I’d be crazy not to have (Eduardo Nunez) in the lineup somewhere,” manager John Farrell said. “My God, he’s been one of the best players in the last week, so yeah, I think the versatility is what really helps in this situation.
