After a standout first season with the Red Sox, Boston ace Garrett Crochet is in the running for the American League’s top pitching accolade.
Crochet was named one of three finalists for the AL Cy Young Award on Monday night, with the southpaw joined by Detroit’s Tarik Skubal and Houston’s Hunter Brown.
A winner will be announced next Wednesday on MLB Network.
Crochet dominated in his first season with the Red Sox, posting an 18-5 record to go along with a 2.59 ERA. He led the AL in both innings pitched (205.1) and strikeouts (255), while also tossing a gem in his lone postseason outing this fall.
