G42: Blue Jays 10, Red Sox 8

By losing to the Blue Jays, the Red Sox did their part in demoting the Yankees to third place in the AL East. Toronto is now alone in second, behind the front-running Rays.

Kevin Plawecki hit his first home run of the year, a three-run job in the first. Bobby Dalbec, Jose Peraza, and Xander Bogaerts also donged.

Bogaerts homered with one out in the eighth, bringing the Red Sox to within two runs. But the next two batters were retired and Boston went in order in the ninth.
