As the offseason drags into the New Year with many top free agent and trade candidates still on the market, the Boston Red Sox remain in the race to reunite with their 2025 third baseman and leader, Alex Bregman.
The longtime Houston Astro isn't the only player on Boston's list of remaining targets, and Bo Bichette and Ketel Marte present worthy backup plans. The Red Sox also aren't the only club among Bregman's top suitors, with the Toronto Blue Jays, Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago Cubs bringing fierce competition. Luckily for them, one of the top candidates for his services last winter won't be a frontrunner yet.
