Farrell: No reason to move Jackie Bradley Jr. from No. 9 spot

It could be merely a coincidence, but the lineup position still seems to matter for Jackie Bradley Jr.

On paper, anyways.

Bradley was 1-for-4 with his first home run since July 7 during the Red Sox’ 4-1 win over the Chicago White Sox on Saturday. It just so happens that he was hitting ninth for the third straight game and fourth game this year.

“I know that he doesn’t believe the spot in the order has a significance on how he performs,” manager John Farrell said. “It might be because when he’s in that nine-hole, he’s got Mookie Betts right behind him.
